Victorian bush fire help

10 Feb, 2009 10:19 AM
"Palerang Council and the Bendigo Bank wish to express deepest sympathies to those who have been through the devastating bush fires in Victoria over the past few days. Our thoughts are with those who have suffered so much in this tragedy."

Council and Bendigo Bank staff are co-ordinating donations to help those who have lost their homes and property. Donations must be received by 4.00pm on Wednesday, 11 February. They can be left at the Council Chambers at 10 Majara Street, Bungendore and the Council Meeting Room, Park Lane, Braidwood during business hours.

Items such as non-perishable food, drinking water, nappies, toys and clothing of any kind in good condition are desperately needed. Please note that mattresses, bedding and blankets are unable to be utilised due to health regulations.

All donations will be taken to Queanbeyan on Wednesday afternoon to join the Drive for Goods organised by Canberra radio station FM106.3. They will then be delivered to Victoria on Thursday by FM106.3.

Cash donations may be made through the local branches of the Bendigo Bank.

All donations will be gratefully received.
