Around 45 people turned up for the Council run Visioning Workshop last Wednesday evening in the National Theatre. Previously 5 people had attended in Araluen and around 22 in Bungendore. (Nerriga is tonight). The Council had a display of planning documents, maps, a graffiti wall and even a childrens toy area. In Braidwood there was time to meet with Council planning staff, followed by two one hour sessions allowed for the 'visioning'.
The workshop run by consultants posed three questions. What do you most like about living here? What is one thing you could change? If you returned in Braidwood in 2026, what thing would you most like to see?
General Manager Peter Bascomb introduced the sessions and pointed out that there were several documents that had not yet come to Council, such as the Sydney/Canberra Corridor Strategy, and the revised State Government draft LEP (Local Environment Plan) and imput from various Catchment authorities. All of these things, as well as the information cleaned from the visioning workshops would feed into the development of the LEP.
