Have you ever wanted to be a volunteer, but don’t have the time? You can volunteer in your own home and have fun too.
By hosting an international exchange student, you will be doing a valuable service for your community and helping a young person realise their dream of coming to Australia.
The purpose of cultural exchange is to further tolerance and world understanding. What a great experience to learn about another culture and make a friend for life. The student will stay with you for a few months and you will have a lifetime of memories. Many host families visit the home countries of their new family member in years to come.
Southern Cross Cultural Exchange is a non-profit organisation, we are looking for host families for students arriving in February 2002.
All students are between 15 and 18 years. They attend a local High School, are covered for medical expenses and bring pocket money with them.
These are some of the students available. Lauren from the USA plays tennis, basketball, athletics and like to write.
Stephen from Germany is 16, he loves to sail, surf and any other sport as well as computers and keyboard.
Elise from Norway is 18, she loves snowboarding, basketball and dancing.
If you could open your hearts and home to a motivated young person, then please call Rae Smith on (02) 4472 4428 or Toll Free 1800 500 501.
