The ten life size metal sculpture animals by Bleach and Townsend, including a bull, horse, pig, sheep, ducks and a couple of dogs will be installed on Tamarama Beach, one of the prime locations of the exhibition. The line of animals looking out to sea is titled 'Waiting', which Townsend hopes will evoke a range of responses from viewers, especially young city kids who may not have experienced the size farm animals in real life.
The animals are cleverly constructed from discarded mechanical and agricultural pieces of metal, which the couple constantly seek out for their work.
Free to the public, the exhibition is expected to be seen by over 500,000 visitors and runs from 16 October to 2 November
Sculpture by the Sea will transform the spectacular cliff top 2km Bondi to Tamarama coastal walk with over 100 sculptures from around the world.
The Goulburn Regional Art Gallery is organising a coach trip to visit Sculpture by the Sea exhibition on Wednesday 29 October 2008. Leaving the Gallery at 7.30am.
