Arrangements are now being made to relax the Stage 2 water restrictions currently in force in Braidwood. Recent rains have once again established flows in the Shaolhaven River, Council's sole source of supply for the Braidwood Water Supply scheme. These flows represent a satisfactory base flow and have once again enabled Council to replenish the off stream storage dam to maximum capacity.
This, together with the forthcoming winter season, an expected reduction in demand and an expectation of continuing satisfactory flows over this period, will enable the implementation of Water Conservation Measures instead of the more stringent controls currently in place - effective from 21 April 2007.
Details of the Water Conservation Measures are the same as those applied to Braidwood in early December last year.
Additional information concerning these arrangements may be obtained from either of Council's offices, by telephoning Council's Works Division or from its website at www.palerang.nsw.gov.au
Council is pleased with the efforts of the Braidwood community in respect of water conservation over the recent summer months and looks forward to a better season in the near future.
