Windfall funding to be decided by committee

10 Dec, 2008 10:13 AM
With a substantial list of projects on the agenda totalling over $1 million, presentations were made on the night in support of childcare facilities at Captains Flat, tennis court refurbishment at Burra and power supply upgrades at Wamboin. It was decided to hand the decisions to a committee that would consult with the community associations.

A general principle to apply principles for distribution of the funding on a general pro rata and needs basis with Cr's Graham, Bransdon and Cockram liasing with the General Manager and the Associations.

It was agreed that the money was intended to stimulate the economy so that creating employment should also be taken into consideration.

In Braidwood, Cr Raynolds put forward that he would like to see a concrete footpath all the way from Narbethong to the Club. Cr Bransdon said that the Wallace St drainage upgrade was a normal council undertaking and should not be considered.
