 Braidwood sinks the Sharks

Braidwood sinks the Sharks

30 Jul, 2006 01:47 PM
As we approach the business end of the season the Redbacks desperately needed a win as they chase a home semi final. Spurred on by a vocal crowd, inspired by the Bears famous victory over Bungendore and finally seeing the return of Bryce, Matt, and Tim from injury, the omens were looking good.

However, as always, we started slowly allowing Bermagui to score, but that was a wake up call for the forwards to dominate. Moff and Haggis (despite his age) provided great pick and drive, Coe dominated the lineout, Holland and Whitey turned on a world class back row display, and the mighty front row of Lyons, Northcott and Morrison took 6 tight heads with Tim scoring an amazing three tries. Just proves that a rugby union front row are the most important and best looking players on the paddock.

The backs enjoyed quality ball all day with the dynamic halfs of Black and Maher creating havoc. Bryce, Cairns and an awake Crawford ran in superb tries, with big Jacob Kain muscling in for another.

Not to be outdone by the massive back three of Ferret, Bowie and Coble ran fearlessly all day. Great game, great result, 36 - 13.

The Royal Mail 3 points and Players Player goes to Haggis. Foodworks 2 points to Tim Morrison, Braidwood Earthmoving and Tallaganda Service Station 1 point to Sam Lyons.

A week off this week then another must win at Home against Ulladulla.
