The Braidwood Servicemen`s Club bears were out-enthused by the Bungendore Tigers on Sunday going down 32- 12. Bungendore scored 7 tries to the Bears 2 and Bungendore led 16-6 at half-time.
The Bendigo Banks Best & Fairest 3 pts went to Mark Piper who had his usual solid game at hooker, scoring a try and creating havoc from dummy-half. Big Ty Noble grabbed 2pts with his bone-crunching defence and also proved a handful for the Tigers defence every time he touched the ball. 1pt went to Matt McCathy who tried all match to spark the Bears attack and tackled his heart out. Adam Dixon and James Evans shared the players player award. Dicko had his best game for the Bears this year, making the most of limited opportunities in attack while James like Matt McCarthy found himself lacking in support after he had made breaks in the Tigers defence throughout the game. The coaches award went to Matt Roach who tackled himself to a standstill.
Next Saturday the Bears take on West Belconnen at 1.30 at the Rec and with the added bonus for footy fans with last years premiers Crookwell taking on the Duntroon Titans at 3.00.
The Pick-A -Bear has jackpotted to $575.00 for next weekends match. Greg " Grizzly" Barrett drew Thumper Gorman in last Fridays draw. There will be 5 players with the possibility for next weekends game so get your tickets at the club.
