Back home in Braidwood Brittney tells The Times about the experience.
"The first day I got to the track and saw the blue track, it was so overwhelming. I really couldn't believe I was competing at the World Junior Championships!"
"It was all happening really fast over there, I had my heat in the morning of the 9th and ran in lane 4. I made it through to the semi's with a time of 59.3 which was also was the 3rd best time I have ever run my hurdles in, so I was stoked to have made it through to the semi final of Worlds" said Brittney.
"The following day I had the semi final I was in lane 2 and ran 60.05. Running in these Championships was a big thing for me and it was very hard to run relaxed as my heart was going to explode out of my chest (ha ha.)
"I was then ranked 12th over all in the world, and I was very pleased with my efforts."
"I was in the Australian women's 4x400m relay and I was the first runner. We ran a very strong heat and came 2nd to USA. That gave us a very good lane for the final and also a chance of medalling. We had lane 4 for the final and ended the race with the bronze medal" she said.
The gold medal went to the USA, silver Ukraine and bronze to the Australian team including Brittney McGlone; Trychelle Kingdom; Olivia Tauro; Angeline Blackburn.
Brittney said it was "so very very close to getting the silver but we did our best!"
"It also was the only medal at the World Junior champs that the Australian team won. At the presentation the whole Australian team was going crazy for us up on the podium. It was an amazing feeling."
Brittney will have a month off training before the Australian season starts in summer. The first competition will be the Canberra Grand Prix. And Brittney will be training hard to qualify for the World University Games in Belgrade for the 400m hurdles and Aust women's 4x400m relay team. Brittney said "I would like to thank the people in Braidwood for all the support and help they have given me to get to the World Junior Championships. It a dream come true."
