 Bears courageous in defeat

Bears courageous in defeat

14 Aug, 2008 03:57 PM
Adam Hacker was the bears best picking up the Players Player Award .He never stopped for the entire game , constantly breaking through the Tigers Defence with brilliant footwork and his defensive effort was first class brining down blokes twice his size with copy book around -the -legs tackling. Midway through the second half he split the defence offloaded to the everpresent Pig Guihot who drew the Tigers fullback and passed back to Hacker who just had the ball knocked from his grasp with the tryline wideopen.

Hacker`s centre partner Jason Kolber picked up the 2nd Players Player Award with a solid effort against his former club. Jason kept his more experienced opposite in check all match with fearless defence and made valuable ground in attack every time he touched the ball. The rest of the boys never gave up and even the Tigers were flattered by the 42-4 scoreline. Big Brett picked up the Coaches Award. He took the ball up courageously close to the ruck and was in the thick of the defence.

The Bears have next Saturday off due to a split round and then back up to play Gavin Miller's Goulburn Exchange Rabbitohs at the Rec the following Saturday.

Proths 'Pick-a-Bear ' now stands at $300. Kylie Walker drew Biggsie in last Friday nights draw. Once again a Big Thankyou to Mick and Cheryl from the Braidwood Butchery for their generous donation for the after match Bar-b-que at the Club.
