The lead changed 3 times throughout the game with the Bears holding a 12 -10 scoreline at half time. Matt McCarthy scored a great Bears try 2 minutes into the game. The Brahmans hit back in the 15th and 21st minute before Stevie Newsome backed up Adam Hacker who swooped on a pinpoint Paul Stuart kick behind Binalong's defence to score 5 minutes before halftime. The first 15 minutes of the 2nd half was a real arm wrestle until Brent Backhouse put one of his trademark bellringing tackles on his opposite who spilled the ball. Scotty Bakos scooped up the ball and was far to fast for the defence and ran 60 metres to score.

The Bears clocked off for the next 12 minutes letting Binalong run in 3 converted tries giving them a 28-18 scoreline but to the Bears credit they regrouped and with the Rec crowd behind them they and got deep into Binalong territory and once again Paul Stuart put another accurate kick in behind the defence and that man Hacker picked the ball up and fed it on to a flying Scotty Bakos who scored out wide. Newsome converted to give the final score of 28-24.

Scott Bakos took out the Raynolds Transport Players Player Award for his best game ever for the Bears . Scotty is the fastest player in the comp and proved it with his 2 tries on Saturday and his defence was first class as well against a classy opposition. Pig Guihot gave his all for 70 minutes and thoroughly deserved 2nd place. Thanks to Bill, Libby and Walter Raynolds for the generous Game Day Sponsorship.

Peter Kelly also has his best game for the Bears to date and has soldiered on all season with a niggling ankle but picked up the Coaches Award for his top effort.
