The Bears led 26-12 at oranges and scored 11 tries to 7. The Bears high fitness level proved to be a telling factor in conditions more suited to cricket with the thermometer reaching 29 degrees during the game.

Braidwood racked up three tries in the first 15 minutes to race to a 16-0 lead. The Raiders crossed in the 22nd minute. The Bears replied to make it 22-6 at the 25 minute mark and with both sides crossing again before halftime ,the big crowd were getting their moneys worth with the open style ,freeflowing footy.

The second half was similar to the first with Boomanulla coming within 8 points at the 45th minute with the score at 32-24 but the Bears hit back with 2 more tries to go to a 42-24 lead.

Both sides crossed for three more tries each to give the final score-line. Big Gee was impressed with all his boys efforts, particularly in attack plus the Bears were denied two more tries for forward passes and three conversion attempts hit the posts.

Game-day sponsors Raynolds Livestock Transport Players Player went to prop Matt Murphy. Murph made yards every time he touched the ball and was punishing in defence. Captain Matty McCarthy picked up the second award for his outstanding game. Matty scored three tries and constantly set up his supports around the ruck. The Coaches Award was shared by Paul Stuart and Adam Hacker. Stuart gave excelent service to his outside men, had a great kicking game and bagged a well deserved try. Hacker proved his versatility with a top game on the wing. He picked the right time to come in and give his forwards a spell in attack and was fearless in defence.
