Bumps and Jumps, thrills and spills

06 Apr, 2011 04:00 AM
Around 200 people attended the Braidwood Rodeo last Saturday in perfect conditions. Events included Bull Riding, Bronc Riding, Steer Wrestling, Steer Undecorating, Rope & Tie, Barrel Racing and Team Roping.

This year a couple of events were added to encourage locals to compete including the Local Barrel Race and Local Steer Ride for competitors from the 2622 postcode. There were several local wins.

The All Round Cowgirl Trophy Saddle went to Nichole Fitzpatrick (nee Amey) originally from Majors Creek but now resident of willow Tree.

At the presentation dinner held at the showground in the evening, the Southern Zone Rodeo season raffle, to raise money for trophy saddles for the riders, was drawn and was won by Ollie Cassim. Full results next week.
