Dolphins down Redbacks

10 May, 2007 02:05 PM
Results Round 4, 5th May: Broulee "Dolphins" 20 bt Braidwood "Redbacks" 7

Broulee were struggling to maintain a 10 - 7 lead at half time, however the late arrival on Aaron Brierley for the second helped two second half tries and allowed the team to stay at the top of the ladder

The Redbacks travelled to Broulee last weekend for their first away game, and to seek revenge for last year's semi-final defeat.

The team started where they left off the previous weekend, total forward domination thanks to Coey, Royds, Moff, Lyons, Bryce, Dan and Haggis. Quality ball from the forwards as Brendan launch the backs into a series of attacks finally Nick Black crashed over to score.

The pressure got too much for Broulee and they controversially called uncontested scrums. This ensured safe ball so they could unleash their big backline. Dicko and Nadin were rock sold in the centres so Broulee tried to target our young guns.

Adam, Ferret and Seamus all had amazing games turning defense into attack against far bigger opponents.

Unfortunately a couple of injuries to key Redbacks and a runaway try saw Broulee take victory. A hige thank you to our travelling supporters. This weekend we play Bega at Braidwood at 3.00pm at the Rec.

Points went to; 3 Coey, 2 Ferret, 1 Royds. Players player Chris Moffitt.
