With the pool closing last weekend, Braidwood Swimming Club held their final club night for the 07/08 season on Monday March 3rd. Over the season, a small number of members have attended Monday club nights, in order to improve their swimming times for different events, and to prepare for school carnivals. The swimmers gained points for each improvement to their times, and these points were totalled for the season to determine the 07/08 Club Champion.
The highest point scorer, and Club Champion, for the second year in succession, was Adelaide Etcell. The second highest point scorer, and winner of the Achievement Award, was Toby Royds. Ribbons and trophies were also awarded for each age group.
Congratulations, and best wishes from the club to our past members, Eliza Tetley, Georgia Toirkens and Rebecca Klomp, who have qualified for their next level representative carnivals.
Braidwood Swimming Club is looking for someone who would be interested in coaching in the 08/09 season. We have the support of a Canberra coach, who would be prepared to mentor the new coach over the winter months and then provide help with training programs, for next summer. The children really need a coach, in Braidwood, to improve their swimming technique and fitness. If you think you would be interested in taking on a coaching role, please phone Kathy Toirkens on 48422021.
