Grand Final here we come

30 Aug, 2007 03:52 PM
Braidwood didn't play their best football in defeating Bega. They now move into next weeks Grand Final against Broulle "Dolphins" and are now the only hope of stopping the Dolphins from going through the season undefeated. Braidwood went to an early 14 - 0 by mid way through the early half but appeared to wind down after this. Bega never gave in and went close to scoring on a number of occassions

Yessss we did it. 19 - 0 over Bega. The Redbacks booked themselves into the grand final this Saturday at 3pm at Broulee. In order to do this they had to overcome a very committed team from Bega. (Well done Bega, great season.)

Asd we knew Bega were going to throw everything they had at us in the forwards. All we had to do was weather the storm and give the backs quality ball. Easier said than done.

The forwards battle was immense and Braidwood's tackling was the best it's been all year (Seamus, take a bow.)

After soaking up the pressure, Hacker was able to release the backs with ball-on-a-string Brendan setting up breathtaking moves with Dicko, Nads and Craig running in two superb tries.

The second half started with the same intensity, then Redbacks started dropping. Nick, Dan, Hacker injured, Tim and Aaron "rested", and we were down to thriteen players.

A huge wrap to Nurmi and Nathan being thrown into the 'lions den' of the pack and more than cquitting themselves.

It became a matter of pride, the more setbacks we had the more we were determined not to let s score in. Willed on by a huge crowd we got there.

Thankyou to our supporters. We have two coaches (24 seaters) going down to the final. Places will go quickly so contact the Royal Mail. We need all the supporters we can so please come down to Broulee for a 3.00pm kickoff and cheer you team on to victory.

Points went to; 3 Haggis and Nick Roberts, 2 Brendan, Dicko, Adam, 1 Sam Lyons, Tim Moffit, players player Seamus. Remember presentation night is Saturday 8th September at Garan Vale. Call Steve on 4842 2027 for tickets.

A huge thank you to all our sponsors, especially Northy at the Toyal Mail Hotel and to Benny, team nutritionist. See you at the game, Steve.
