Junior Redbacks Presentation Day

17 Sep, 2009 01:18 PM
To celebrate a hugely successful season for the Junior Redbacks all the players and their family's had a great afternoon on Saturday 5th September at the Braidwood RSL Club. (Thanks to Lee Piper and the club for organising the use of the BBQ facilities.)

The afternoon started off with the kids squeezing in one last game of rugby, on the netball court, which at times threatened to spill out into the bowling and golf greens. Other than the parents who helped out during the year I would like to thank our sponsors who with their very generous financial support, made the year possible. Jake Bourne from Braidwood Rural and Building Supplies', The Braidwood and Bungendore Community Bank, Richard Walker from Landmark Braidwood, Eddie Nomchong from Nomchong Electrical, the Jefferies family from Tallaganda Service Station, Steve and Kym Bevege from S Bevege Mechanical Repairs, the crew from G B Auto Electrics, Simon and Simone Bennett, Ling and Fiona from Len Mutton & Co, Steve and Deb Waters from Steve Waters Fencing, Brenda and Ian Vardenega from the Boiled Lollie shop, Steve and Maya Black from Braidwood Soil Construction Service and Greg and Nicola Gilbert from the Braidwood vet surgery. Thanks also to Mick Wall and the Central school for the use of the bus.

Jake Bourne from Braidwood Rural and Building Supplies, who was the major sponsor this year and who was also representing the Senior Redbacks was on hand to present the trophies. Nick Asimus and Isaac Quattromini both received trophies for their Participation in the U8's. For the U10's Harry Fry won the Best and Fairest Award and Joel Clarke got the Players Player trophy. In the U12's Riley Sheridan received the Players Player trophy and Forbes Corby got the Best and Fairest Award. Very well done to, not only these lads, but to all the players who participated this year.

Next year we will be looking at taking over U6's and U8's (which is non tackle) and the U10's and 12's which is tackle. Any questions relating to Junior Rugby contact George Sherriff 0427 461153

See you next year.
