Redbacks win on the road

24 May, 2007 12:53 PM
Braidwood showed that travelling is not an issue this season in there campaign to win the competition. A well drilled big set of forwards and a set of quick backs were to good for a disappointing Batemans Bay team.

Finally, after nearly three seasons, the Redbacks have won 'away.' This year's team gets stronger every week and on Saturday it showed what a force it's going to be by claiming the 'holy grail', beating Batemans Bay, at the Bay.

The lads carried on from the previous week with total forward dominance, led by Coe, Royds, Morrison and Lyons, in the pick and drive, ruck, maul (one which went 40 metres) and the set piece.

This enabled the new look back line to attack the Bay from anywhere and Adam Hacker and Reece Coble's solo tries typified the attacking skill this team has. What was pleasing to see ( especially if you are an olf forward) was the 'in your face' defense from the backs, never letting the Bay get running.

Braidwood's try scorers were Tim Morrison (of course), Chris Moffit, Adam Hacker, Reece Noble and Dicko.

Great kicking by Reec saw the final score 36-18. This Saturday we are at home against Ulladulla at 3pm at the Rec.

A huge thank you to our travelling and very vocal band of supporters and to our sponsors.

Training at the Rec Thursday 6.15, be there.
