Last Thursday Helen Roberts of the Saddle Camp held a Gymkhana. Six excited young ladies took part in a variety of events, including the Ball and Racquet race, the Candy Steady, the Bounce Pony, the Barrel race and the Bending race. They all did really well controlling their horses and participating in all the events, as well as taking care of their horses before and after the races. Helen was helped by Inga and Matelia who worked very hard all day leading the horses around the track.
At the end of the day, everyone received a certificate and the Best Horseperson trophy was awarded to the fastest person, Isobel Iffland-Mihaich, who was riding Comet. Most of the girls are having riding lessons with Helen and it was a good chance for them to show off the skills they have learnt. Helen also has Year 11 and 12 students from Braidwood Central school who are studying the TVET Horse Management course.
