 So Close again...

So Close again...

23 Aug, 2007 11:30 AM
We came, we saw, we son nearly conquered. The Redbacks travelled to Batemans Bay to play Broulee for a chance to host the grand final.

Semi final football is serious and both teams gave everything. Braidwood started stronger with their forwards providing ball for Brendan to unleash his backline, with the first move almost producing the desired result.

As we knew they would, Broulee hit back with a try. Braidwood spent ages camped on the Broulee line, we just couldn't go that extra yard.

The second half saw more of the same. Braidwood had the pressure but Broulee managed to counter attack and scored a try (although maybe a knock on!)

Finally after another marathon effort, Adam Hacker muscled his way over for a Braidwood, but sadly time ran out, with Broulee the victors 17 - 10.

Thank you to all the Braidwood supporters who travelled down to the Bay. It was great to hear your support.

This week in a play off to meet Broulee in the final, Braidwood play Bega here at the Rec at 3.00pm.

This is a last chance game for both teams and with Bega boasting a strong and committed forward pack it is going to be a Titanic struggle. So, please people of Braidwood, be at the Rec ground at 3.00pm this Saturday to cheer on your team to the grand final.

Points this week went to :3 Brendan Maher, 2 Tim Moffitt,, Dan Varanega, 1 Chris Moffit, Players Player Adam Dickson.
