A strong field of 36 players contested the 9 hole cadet event. All the Braidwood boys played exceptionally well with Romney Smith returning the best score of 39 only 2 shots behind the winner who was from Nowra.
Christopher Lennon 40, Harry Evans 40, Harry Fry 45, Mathew Faulkoner 45, Jack Asimus 46 and Mathew Royds 46 can all be proud of their efforts. The long holes, dam, creeks and big bunkers didn't daunt the boys but put massive strain on their caddies who were all looking a little worse for wear at the end of the nine holes.
In the 18 hole Junior Event Pat Martin had 87 off the stick to be runner up in Second Division. Fellow junior Will Richards had 109 for a net 81 to be only a couple off the pace in his Division.
All boys are part of Leigh Hunter's Wednesday after school classes and any other young people in town male and female interested in learning about the great game of golf are most welcome to join theses lessons.
We look forward to following the development of these young golfer and the future of golf in Braidwood has never looked so bright.
