What was a surprise that non-committee members attended and therefore we thank Ross Lawless, Peter Stephens and Keith Ferguson for their help, We also extend our thoughts to Keith and Debbie for their unexpected loss.
Last Saturday was the perfect winter's day and a small field contested the monthly medal and mug. Strangely no-one could account for the brain explosions that resulted in high scores. It was an almost universal phenomenon with only one player breaking 70.
Barry Toombs won the day with a net 69 from Terry Hughes on 73. Bill Heard was the NTP with Michael Tillman-Ryan, Warren West and Peter Stephens winning the balls. Sparrow noted that when you win a ball with a 76, something is awry.
Les Mundy's pin placements accounted for some of the yips but they cannot be blamed for the many 100 plus scores. The Ladies competition was won by Judy Bevege with Judy Scott and Vera Bachinger keeping her honest.
CRT Distributors have agreed to sponsor the NTP's for the Braidwood Open on 27 July. We thank them for their generosity and support. This year we also thank the Martins for their sponsorship of a prize for the best junior. Please book through the Club.
This is a first for the club and reflects the slow but steady progress we are making in attracting young people to the game. It was great to see Romney and Murray again enjoying their game last Sunday.
Romney was resting on the edge of the sixth green. "I'm tired. I've played six holes when normally I only play three!"
Next Saturday there is a singles stableford for both the men and women.
