During the holidays Pat played in the Royal Canberra Junior Open. Playing the magnificent layout for the first time Pat finishing with 93 off the stick for net score of 73 -one over par. This tournament was played in two divisions with Pat being A grade for the first time and his final net score was 3 behind the net winner.
On Sunday both Will and Pat traveled to the coast to contest the Moruya Junior Open. The previous day both boys played 36 holes in the Braidwood club championships.
With a gross score of 108 Will was required to play off a 27 handicap under tournament conditions, but if he applied his Braidwood handicap of 35 this would have been a net 73 -only one over par playing the tough Moruya layout for the first time.
After a triple bogey followed by two double bogeys Pat found himself seven over par after only three holes, but settled down to play the next 5 holes in one over and turn after nine in 46, finishing with a gross score of 91 and net of 71 -one under par. Pat's gross score placed him in a four way tie for the C grade gross and he was declared the winner using the countback.
The ACT/NSW Golf Scholarship Program had 11 kids in all attend the Moruya and come out with 5 winners.
