On Saturday night the Braidwood Show Society held its annual presentation dinner at Garan Vale Woolshed.
The president Mr Barry McDowall congratulated the exhibitors that won prizes at the Braidwood Show and then went onto the Royal Sydney Show. They included Ian and Noelene Cargil with a Crossbred Fleece which won a first prize at Sydney, and Geoff Bradley who exhibited a Merino fleece.
The Elizabeth Field Stud from Yass, owned by Margaret Hunt and Dr Sandra Johnson, won firsts at Braidwood and then went on to Sydney to take out the main places with their cattle. Patricia Mundy who won first prize in the Group 7 area for the Agriculture Rich Fruit Cake which entitle her to compete in the Sydney which Pat did. The School received a Highly Commended for their cattle skills.
Congratulations also to our Miss Show Girl Larnie Hart and Miss Junior Show Girl Brittaney McGlone.
The President noted the excellent weather conditions this year that resulted in a large crowd, the increased exhibits and the outstanding school displays.
This year the poultry section numbers were well up and needed an annexe to house the additional entries.
He also thanked Di Izzard, Sue Trantor and all the Committee for their continued hard work and support, "providing Braidwood and district and visitors the premier family event of the year."
