The presentation ceremony, held at the Braidwood Servicemen’s Club, was attended by grant recipients, proud families and friends, and a number of the sponsors who so generously provided this support.
The Braidwood District Education Foundation has now been in operation for eight years, and due solely to the generosity of donations from the community, has been able to provide a “hands up” to every single applicant over that period, whether they have chosen to pursue further education in a tertiary setting, or they are embarking on a trade career. This assistance includes not only a financial grant, but also support in the form of a peer mentor program.
Guest speaker , Ms Sarah Taylor, the newly appointed CEO of the peak body, Country Education Foundation, presented the awards, congratulating the recipients, and reminding them to always keep a piece of Braidwood inside their hearts.
