When 12 ends had been played the Batemans Bay teams were in front by six points, the locals then pulled up even by the twentieth end and then the lead went to and fro to the fortieth end when the Braidwood boys pulled away, and when all 63 end had been played Braidwood were the clear winners. With 59 over 46.
John Bunn’s team won 22-9, Dennis Gorham’s team won 24 -9 and Andrew Moran’s team, well behind early in the game pulled their margin in to 5 in a low scoring game losing 13 -18.
Dennis’ team score could have looked better only for a rush of blood to the head in the last end when with a good lead they started to gamble with some shots that were good, if they had come off, but they gave away 6 shots.
In the end Braidwood came away with 5 points +13 in the overall Pennant competitions this being our 1st win this year.
Gary Kiff, Tom Watson and Peter Camiller played great games in their first pennant appearance and have been rewarded for next week’s gamne against Malua Bay at Malua Bay. Gary has only been playing for six months and on Sunday he stretched long time player Andrew Moran to lose by only 4 points 31 – 27 in a major singles game.
