Over the weekend a successful fundraising event was held for artists Andy Townsend and Suzie Bleach at Altenburg & Co Gallery, and Dee-licious. Many generous volunteers and artists donated their time, venues and artworks for a beautiful community event with plenty of food, wine, live music, performance and atmosphere. Over $15,000 dollars was raised for the pair, who will now get to work on rebuilding their tool collection and workspace.

Andy’s heartfelt speech sums up the story of the event:
“The story of this event today begun with a random spark, on August the 15th, an inferno cut a savage sway into our lives. We were stopped in our tracks, speechless, dumbfounded. …This event is an extraordinary demonstration of support, of solidarity, generosity and of palpable love. It’s also a reunion, a celebration and a great reason to party. Thank you”.
The Phoenix Fund would like to thank The Three Rabbis for their humorous contribution, Samuel Townsend for his wonderful performance. Amelia, Jess Millard and their bands getting people moving, Dee and Francesca for the generous use of their space, Dave Sargeant for his help, Matt Hulse, Mark Barrington & Dojo Bakery, Bendigo Bank, The Braidwood Life Centre, Braidwood Central School, Mick and the Braidwood Butcher, Jeremy & IGA Braidwood, Paydirt Eatery, Artsound FM, Braidwood Times, Floss Sturgiss, STUR gallery, ANU School of Art, Harry and Rose Townsend & Friends. And to all the volunteers and attendees of the event, thanks for sharing the love!
