It was a 77th minute penalty goal from her boot that broke a four game losing streak against 2013 Women's Premier League champions Belconnen, which was also their first victory over the competition heavyweights.

Undoubtedly one of the most important goals she's kicked in two years at Monaro given they are now one up on their greatest rivals, it comes after she top scored in the Federation Cup with six goals to her name.

And this backed up a huge 24 goal effort from last year's WPL that saw the Panthers reach the grand final in their first season.

Palombi said she was confident another good season lay ahead of her.

"It was awesome to get that win over Belconnen. They're such a strong and experienced side and we were down a couple of girls so that made it even better," she said.

"The weather conditions were terrible, and it was hard to create too many chances in the game."

"But I love scoring goals, and I like contributing to the team."

While she has played with plenty of Canberra United national W-League players, that next step up is not playing in the mind of Palombi.

She plays along side Canberra United winger and former youth Matilda Meg McLaughlin, and managed to dispatch Belconnen's three Canberra players in Caitlin Munoz, Grace Field and Catherine Brown.

"I'm happy just playing for the Panthers rather than being a professional footballer in the Australian competition," she said.

"I'd be happy to look into it in a year or two, so it's always on the cards, but at the moment I'm just happy doing what I'm doing with Monaro."

Palombi has already played in representative sides in under 17's, under 18's and under 19's, and has travelled to the United Kingdom, Japan and China to play, and would not be foreign to the high expectations of the W-League.

So far this season Palmobi has switched from striker to mid-field, but considers herself an attacking mid-fielder that works off the back of the front three.

Her combination with McLaughlin and sister Brittany has worked a treat, and is undoubtedly one of the most lethal in the competition.
