There seems to have been an end of financial year flurry of activity around town. Not only has the Heritage Paver footpath in Ryrie Park nearly finished, but a lot of footpath grinding down has also been happening in Wallace and Duncan Street.

Several lots of roadworks are continuing on the Kings Highway from Clyde Mountain slope stabilisation, work near Larbert Road, at Doughboy Hill and the recently completed resurfacing on the town entrance.
The plans for the new roundabout and landscaping (pictured) are now on display at council offices, although Councillor Cockram reports that there is no money allocated in the budget, so it will “not happen this year and probably not next year.”
Local businesses, community groups and general community members of Braidwood and Bungendore are invited to attend a drop-in information session with Council staff on the proposed treatments at the Old Library Building, Park Lane Braidwood – Tuesday 10 June between 4:30pm and 6:30pm.
Palerang Director of Infrastructure Planning Bill Ellison says the construction of the pedestrian crossings will commence after the long week-end, and “The works will be pretty much to the layouts that were on public display.”
Mr Ellison also said that the Park Lane and Lascelles west projects are in the 2014/15 budget currently being advertised, but no program dates have been set as yet.
“The Lascelles west project is there in case we get funds in the next year to construct the proposed Wallace/Lascelles roundabout, however there has been no advice as yet however when these roundabout projects will be funded by RMS.”
The ‘Beyond Nerriga Route Options Study’ for MR92 (Nerriga Road) Report has still not been finalised but the final draft is expected soon. The route options are: Southern route – Nerriga, Braidwood, Bungendore, Murrumbateman, Yass: Northern route – Nerriga, Tarago, Collector, Gunning, Yass; or Combined route – Nerriga, Tarago, Bungendore, Murrumbateman, Yass.
The arrangements for the re-construction of the Molonglo River Bridge on the Captains Flat Road are progressing. The appointed contractor, Bridge Works Australia is currently pouring the precast concrete members off site. Works are expected to commence on site at the end of June 2014.
