Prof McAdam is the Director of the Kaldor Centre for Refugee Law at UNSW and a world expert in the field.
Braidwoodian Forbes Gordon had invited Prof McAdam to speak on behalf of the Braidwood Rural Australians for Refugees Group, and urged Goulburnians to start their own RAR group.
Prof McAdam debunked many of the myths around refugees and explained many of the details about refugees, detention and the law - State, Federal and International.
There were interesting and informative questions from the floor and Mr Gordon was delighted with the turn out from Goulburn locals.
Prof. McAdam has been invited to speak in Braidwood later in the year.
