One of the benefits of our cold climate winter is the truffle season and locals will be able to taste this while helping to raise money for the Starlight Foundation. Braidwood Community Bank has provided a 208 gram truffle to the Albion Café for preparation in a range of dishes which will be available on the menu, and $5 from each dish will be donated to the Starlight Foundation, the major National Charity of the Bendigo Bank.

The Truffle was donated to the Braidwood Community Bank by the Canberra Truffle Festival, represented locally by Terra Preta Truffles at Reidsdale. At $2000 a kilo, the truffle is worth about $416 so the bank decided the best way to share it around was to have it expertly prepared by Bridgette and Brendan at the Albion and raise some money along the way.
Look out for the blackboard truffle specials such as baked eggs and risotto.
