After a publicity assault on Bungendore to attract new members look out Braidwood as brochures and posters will be distributed this week. These attempts to attract new and former members are the result of a committed effort by a small group of current members to demonstrate what the Braidwood golf course and club has to offer. So, if you are thinking of joining the club for the first time or to renew your interest in the club now is the time.

Last Saturday’s ladies event was sponsored by Michelle Henry, one of the major contributors to the publicity effort. Jackie Clark won the day from Shirley Shoemark with Peg Job having her first Saturday game. Her smile said it all!
Douglas Adams, the inspired English science fiction writer, observed that reality is frequently inaccurate and sometimes you think he was referring to golf and not some interplanetary circumstance.
For example if you begin a game with a par and a birdie and your handicap is more than 25 you know that reality will probably catch up with you and inevitably it does.
The medley two ball best ball was won by Terry Hughes and Murray Smith from Phil O’Toole and Keith Ferguson with Phil the NTP and Keith the jackpot winner. The balls went to Romney Smith, David Goddard, Donna Kuhn, Don Burke, Mike Fitzgerald and the hyphenated Bungendore burglar.
Romney Smith is the October medal winner and Mr Steady, Mike Toirkens, the runner up. The balls were won by Shamrock, Northy, Smith the elder, the platypus and Phil O’Toole.
This week there will be single stableford events sponsored by Wyndarra Alpaca Stud and Geoff Hassall and now that daylight saving is back start times are 12:15 for the ladies and 12: 30 for the men.
Volunteers always welcome on Thursday mornings as there are always jobs to be done. The course does not look after itself! Monkittee Platypus.
