Gary Hall snr might have another special pacer in four-year-old Waylade, who joined superstars The Falcon Strike and Im Themightyquinn by winning the McInerney Ford Classic at Gloucester Park on Friday night.

At only his ninth start, Waylade chalked up his fifth win, scoring by 11 metres in a one minute, 58.4-second mile rate for the 2536 metres after returning from a fractured pastern.
"He isn't near the class of The Falcon Strike or Quinny but he can can go a long way," driver Gary Hall jnr said. "He has only had the nine starts and is doing it so easily. That was the first time I have driven him to lead but as soon as he found the pegs he just relaxed and did that with plenty in reserve."
Waylade races with three pins in his leg after fracturing a pastern last year. Since returning he has won four from five and has become the Halls' leading four-year-old. "He stepped up at the right time after Machtu and Elegant Christian had setbacks," Hall junior said. "He has still got a way to go but he has a group 1 now."
Waylade will be a short-priced favourite for next month's Golden Nugget.
Wonderful mare Sensational Gabby earlier on Friday night rated 1.54.4 to win the Norms Daughter Classic and will shoot for the stars this preparation in the Fremantle Cup and WA Pacing Cup.
Both Waylade and Sensational Gabby would also be eying the long-term goal of the Inter Dominion, to be run at Gloucester in November and December next year.
Meanwhile, Beautide will defend his Miracle Mile title at Menangle next Saturday night. It shapes as a great contest with Christen Me, Terror To Love and Avonnova likely to ensure the 1.50 mark will be challenged.
