The 20th Annual Braidwood Quilt event was held in sunshine with the town bustling with people from the Markets in Ryrie Park to the National Theatre, open gardens, as well as other venues across town.

The Men’s Shed display of memorabilia and the Braidwood Car Club car show were a huge hit with visitors and locals alike.
In the quilt competitions; Category 1. The Braidwood Community Bank $1000 “Bush Spirit” Art Quilt Award was won by Helen Godden’s “The Blacksmith” (detail pictured) . Category 2. “We Are Australian” quilt design winner was Carol Brady. 3. Hand quilting Award winners was Beverley Hunter. 4. Quilt made for a child winner was Susan Camm. 5. Bed Quilt 1st Prize went to Dianne McCarthy, 2nd Cassandra Philpott, 3rd Penny Knowlden. 6. Wall Hanging winners was Marion Walshe, with Encouragement Awards to Wendy Luff and Marion Walsh. 7. Lap Quilt winner was Lynda Wortz.
8. Quilt made by child 17 years and under was won by Sara Magee. Encouragement Award to Grace , Maegan and Fynn Weatherstone. 9. Quilt Made By a Male (no entries). First quilt made by a new quilter won by Penny Knowlden, with an Encouragement Award to Debra Barton. 11. The Braidwood Quilt Shop Challenge was won by Enid Moloney.
The Indoor exhibition Viewers Choice was won by Narell Smit with ‘Oh La La.” and the The Outdoor exhibition Viewers Choice.was won by Jullie Terry for ‘Starburst’ which was hanging outside the VIC.
The lucky winner of the Raffle Quilt, ‘Under a Southern Sun’ by June Weatherstone, was Shirley Woolner.
