In his defence, Dr. Hendy does not discuss his Government’s consignment of asylum seekers, men, women and children, to extremely deficient third-world camps for years on end, simply to serve as a deterrent to others. Instead, true to the form of the mainstream parties, he merely claims the other lot is more inhumane.
Does Dr. Hendy know that asylum seekers are legal, mostly genuine refugees, mostly excellent prospective Australian citizens, and have only ever represented a few percent of our immigration intake? If he does not, he does not deserve to be in Parliament. If he does, then he is guilty of gross political expedience at the cost of other people’s safety, sanity and sometimes lives.
Dr. Hendy’s attitude is an excellent illustration of how Australia needs a political circuit breaker, to get us out of this race to the bottom. I suggest we must change the way we vote. I suggest we must vote for anyone but the mainstream parties.
