Molines, who long voiced a campaign for its owners to drop the moniker, won't have to wait much longer. Current chef George Francisco confirmed the restaurant will be known as Circa 1876 from the end of the month. "It's time for change. 1876 is the year the building dates back to. Its residents are said to include a gun-toting winemaker," Francisco says. "The biggest challenge will be changing the 20 or so signs around the Hunter with the Roberts name on them."
