Mr Barilaro joined the Deputy Premier and Minister for the Arts Troy Grant to announce a $5,000 grant for the festival to be held in May.
“The funding will be used to permanently install a monumental piece of Mintaro Slate, with engraved inscription by local artist Ian Marr in collaboration with Aboriginal artist Noel Butler, in the main public park in Braidwood,” said Mr Barilaro.
“The work will acknowledge and pay tribute to the original custodians of the Braidwood area, the Dhurga People. The Dhurga Rock will be unveiled in a ceremony at The Two Fires Festival in May 2015.”
Deputy Premier and Minister for the Arts, Troy Grant, said the funding is part of the NSW Liberals & Nationals Government’s commitment to providing continuing support to the arts and cultural sector in regional NSW.
