The local men’s shed has finally got internet access. The first thing we surfed for was the cyclone activity in northern Australia. Of course the farming element at the shed wanted to know if we were going to get rain in our area.

Access to the net has now allowed us to start teaching members about computer skills and communication. We have ordered another network card and should have two computers on the net by next Friday.
A couple of our handy men repaired the door at the CWA headquarters. We’d like to once again thank the ladies for the aprons. They are the first thing most men reach for when they turn up.
Ed Gardner has been enthusiastic with his approach to health and safety and it is rubbing off on all the members. The workshop is starting to take shape.
To complement the new tiles in the toilets, Gordon and Barry hooked in with the paint brushes and did a fantastic job. They worked mid-week with no traffic to bother them. They even painted the concrete entryways and they looked most effective.
Once again we had a healthy number of starters last Friday. Pies and pasties were provided for lunch by Poppy’s on Wallace. Yummy tucker and most appreciated.
