Telstra has finally decided to kill off its music streaming service MOG, announcing the move in an email to customers on Friday.

Telstra's music streaming service's future has been in doubt for some time now since the US division of the MOG brand changed hands a number of times and finally shuttered for good (at least in the US) early last year.
Telstra said last year that it decided to keep the service going for the foreseeable future but on Friday announced on its BigPond Music website and via an email to its customer that it had set a date to switch it off for good.
"From 31 August 2015 the MOG service will no longer operate in Australia," it said. "This means existing subscribers to MOG will still have access to the service up to and including 31 August 2015.
"All access to the MOG library will no longer be available, including songs downloaded for offline playback, access to your playlists and access to MOG on your SONOS system from 31 August, 2015."
It said MOG had been left running even after the shut down in the US because it knew music was important to its customers.
It's unclear how many customers still make use of the service in Australia.
