Palerang United men were supposed to take on Burns FC but a text message late Friday from the Burns FC saw them forfeiting the match. So a week off and a 3-0 win puts Palerang United now in a position where we sit in fourth position on the ladder 5 points ahead of fifth placed ANU Orange. The final 2 rounds will see ANU Orange taking on the top 2 teams and they have struggled against these teams all season so I am anticipating the most points they will get from these two games will be less than 4 points maximum.
Palerang United take on the third placed Monaro who we beat in the second round and last placed Burn FC in Braidwood on the 29th - if they turn up! So i would like to think we are looking at a minimum of 4 points from the final two games. This will see Palerang United play a Semi Final against ANU Blue on the 2nd September in Canberra! Good Luck Boys and let’s hope there are no surprises!
Palerang United Women Should Make The Finals
Things are heating up in a tightly contested women’s competition. Palerang United Women had the bye on the weekend and after last weekends results now see 4 teams level on 25 points with only two positions left for a top four spot and only one round to go. ANU have led the competition all season but have lost their last 2 games and are now on 32 points only one point in front of second placed Belnorth who are on 31 points. Then we have Yass in third place on 25 points but with a superior goal difference of plus 23. Narrabundah are now fourth after a win last weekend and with a goal difference of plus 7 but have two game this week against the top two teams and are at best only looking at 2 points from these games.
Palerang United are in fifth place on 25 points with a plus 7 goal difference the same as Narrabundah and we play the last placed team in the last round. A must win game and by plenty of goals hopefully to get us ahead of Narrabundah. Tuggeranong are also on 25 points but with only a plus 3 goal difference and have scored no more than three goals in any match all season so are unlikely to get ahead of Palerang United on the table. Hopefully all the results go our way and we have a strong win on the weekend to maximise the chance to make our third final series in a row. Good luck Ladies!
Under 13 Girls

The under 13's Palerang Pinks took on Woden Valley Tigers at home with a 3/0 win ,our girls showed their usual talents and went straight into win mode from the kick off.
Lyla Crosbie showing her usual persistence in not letting a chance go by to hit for a goal . Lyndsey Medham was bought out of goals to have a run and scored a goal in no time ,The girls were on fire Sophie Cargill ,Crystal Dheule ,Jarrah Parsons, Willough Corby, and Jorja Noye keeping the ball alive and keeping the pressure on the other team .
The girls had absolute fire in their bellies and you could clearly see that with the great playing by Georgia Grant, Ellie Bunn Logan Hunt and Abby Birkett not letting much get past them . Coach Chris moved some players and gave our little young guns a taste of playing up front in which they showed us proudly that they could take on pretty much any position Zoe Cargill ,Ella Parsons and Claire Pettit never gave up and held their own with some great footwork from Claire Pettit not missing a beat.Lyla scored two goals and one goal was in the last two minutes of the game and Lyndsey scored the other goal,
Well done girls! you all continue to do the club proud week after week.
Under 10 Boys

Great game again this Saturday with a defeat of 9-0 against the Belwest Hammer Heads from Canberra, Palerang really showed the skills learnt over the last season showing great passing and excellent position holding, Belwest kept up the defence all the time with so many great goal saves from their experienced goal keeper, however our mixed front line kept the pressure on all the time extending the ball out to the middle sides and upwards to the wings to then transfer it to the centre for goal striking opportunity.
The structure of our side was outstanding this weekend and really did show all the hard work has payed off, all our players are now familiar will all position roles and are now fulfilling the requirements of those positions, a very refreshing site for the coach and hopefully our supporters as well.
Keep it up guys.
I would like to mention that Belwest were down a couple of players this Saturday and were able to fill in with a few younger siblings which was great to see, thankyou Belwest for coming to Braidwood to play with us.
Palerang had a mix of goal scorers being Ryan Blowes 2, Lachlan Hindmarsh 1, Josh Clarke 1, Leroy Campbell Daveys 3 & Isabella Hindmarsh 2.
I would like to add as coach of the Palerang under 10’s soccer team that I am very proud of how hard you guys have worked all season showing respect, team work and sportsmanship, it is a credit to every player of this team to see just how much they have developed and improved to date.
Keep up the good work guys and have fun.
