Palerang Under 10s played against Marist last Saturday winning 11-0. It was a fantastic effort from our Braidwood representatives who demonstrated the best team effort we have seen all season with their passing, communicating and generally working together. Our front line dominated Marist half most of the game however our back line was busy at times defending against Marist as they found opportunities to be in our half.
The Marist goalie was quite busy at times saving some fantastic goals and showing what it really takes to be a worthy goal keeper for his side, well done. Our defence was outstanding with all players giving equal contribution to this area and whilst supporting the front line at all times.
Goal scorers were Leroy Campbell Davies 5, Isabella Hindmarsh 1, Ryan Blowes 2, Angus McPhail 1, Nathan Hindmarsh1, Bryce Carey 1.
As coach of the Palerang U10's team I am very proud to see how this team has united together and improved throughout this season and hope all the kids have had fun and gained something from the comp, I would also like to thank the parents and helpers for giving up their time to support this event also, it is very much appreciated.
Well done Palerang U10's and hope to see you next year.
Jason Hindmarsh.
UNDER 13 GIRLS
The Palerang Pinks under 13's played their last game of the season in Dickson last Saturday walking away with yet another win 2/1
The girls were all fired up for their final game and went out with all guns blazing. The backs Georgia Grant, Jorja Noye, Crystal Dhuerle, Miah Gunderson and Jarrah Parsons all did their usual great defending seeing most of the game played in the opposition half.
The mids Ellie Bunn, Sophie Cargill, Claire Pettit and Zoe Cargill all had a great game, keeping up the pace with everyone else. All the forwards Ela Parsons, Lyndsey Medham, Abby Birkett, Lyla Crosbie and Logan Hunt with all their persistent attacking lead to the first goal being scored by Logan Hunt then seeing the second goal being scored by a very determined Lyla Crosbie, first half saw no goals go in. After half time and overhearing the opposition's coach telling his girls that our girls were all scared of his team, that just fired our little ladies right up and they returned to the field with absolute fire in their bellies, there was some very rough handling from the other side but our girls held their heads high and still played a very fair game despite being pushed and shoved from the opposition.
This makes our girls the premiers of the under 13's Div 3 for Capital Football, after 16 rounds, 14 wins, 1 draw and 1 loss, saw the girls score 58 goals and only concede 6 goals.
Well done our little ladies we could not be prouder of you all

PALERANG UNDER 15 MEN
‘The Final Countdown’ Palerang United 2vs Burgmann 4
It was the last match of the season, Palerang sitting in 2nd place on 28 points, 1 point in front of Brindabella and 2 points in front of 4th place, Woden. Palerang played Burgmann, undefeated all season and deserving champions.
What a gripping finale to a home of Braidwood football, the Braidwood Rec Ground, fully pumped and fully focussed, the crowd made their way down Wallace Street, flags and banners held high singing “you’ll never walk alone,” the team song to this legendary Under 15 team.
Final words of wisdom and team instructions came passionately from Head Coach, Murray Smith. The noise of the referee’s whistle bellowed over the top of the vocal crowd, it was game on.
The opening 20 minutes was played cautiously by both teams, each side respecting their opponents. The skill level was high as expected from the top 2 teams of the competition. Burgmann scored first, but Palerang’s reply was swift with beautifully executed ball movement finishing with the equaliser. 1-1 at the half time break.
2 quick goals early in the 1nd half saw Burgmann take a commanding position. However, Palerang as they have showed all season, had never say die attitude. Wace after wave of attacks from Palerang saw several close opportunities. Manager, “Smiley” Kylie Bunn said, “We have peppered their goals so much we could have been charged with assault!” Palerang got 1 back towards the end, but it was too late.
Players from Palerang stayed back well after the final whistle to sign autographs, have photos with their supporters and team mates and take the nets down.
The team had a terrific season. The ages in the team ranged from 12 to 16, all getting on well as a team unit. For some of the younger players, they were playing against opponents twice their weight and height, and to their credit never flinched. They showed tremendous courage and commitment throughout the season. The senior players of the team must also be commended for the way they nurtured the younger players.
Looking back at the season, if you wanted to see plenty of goals the Palerang lads were the team to watch. 72 goals in 15 matches shows they loved to play attacking football and entertain the supporters.
Well done on a terrific and memorable season.
