The sessions will run from 12th to the 21st January on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday of each week and there will be something on offer for both primary and high school ages children.

Tom Bonin will be offering three 3 hour workshops on basic perspective and anatomy, two of the cornerstones of creating realistic spaces and understanding form. He will teach the basics and then the group will move to creating artworks.

Christina Jagusiak, Heidi Horwood and Sue Lyons will run a number of children’s yoga classes over the fortnight suitable for children 5 years and older. They will use music, games and props to encourage creativity, make yoga fun and support children to relax and manage stress.

Merrilyn Simmons will run a singing and playing for fun session for 5 to 7 years and 8 years and older. Using singing games, percussion, xylophones and ukulele children will sing, improvise and play music together for fun.

Nadia McLeish will present ‘Here comes the sun’ Cyanotype workshops for children 8 to 12 years.  These are one of the earliest types of photographic processes invented and children will discover the magic of photography without using a camera. For older students Nadia will offer an Inkodye session. This is a similar process using the sun and found objects to create a colourful piece of usable art to take home.
