The brief article read...
“COAL CONSUMPTION AFFECTING CLIMATE.
The furnaces of the world are now burning about 2,000,000,000 tons of coal a year. When this is burned, uniting with oxygen, it adds about 7,000,000,000 tons of carbon dioxide to the atmosphere yearly. This tends to make the air a more effective blanket for the earth and to raise its temperature. The effect may be considerable in a few centuries.”
Mr Stahel said “ The original newspapers are owned by the Braidwood and District Historical Society. They are kept safely in the National Library in Canberra and have been scanned into 'Trove' Can there be any doubt that it is a valuable resource worthy of continued funding?”
“The Braidwood Museum really does have an amazing archive” said My Stahel. “The most common comment has been 'Wow' with my personal favourite "Tip of the hat Braidwood 1912 Wag of the finger Canberra 2016."
