Nick Fry, Braidwood Community Bank Manager, Bendigo Bank, offered to get the word out every visit to Braidwood to encourage donors but today his message was a little different - "we need a generator - can anyone help?"
So many businesses and individuals were so co-operative and wanted to help. These ranged from the Palerang Council, Essential Energy, staff at Braidwood Landmark and many more.
In the end, it was Graeme Farley, the manager at Braidwood Rural and Building Supplies who was able to borrow one from his neighbour, Michael 'Bing' Carlson from Braidwood Sawmill. Michael was so delighted he could help out with donating his generator for the day. Graeme collected the generator from Michael and had it delivered at the same time the Mobile donor centre arrived in Braidwood this morning at 7.30am.
Jemma said “We can't thank Braidwood community enough for everyone's part that they played with ensuring we could collect blood from the Braidwood blood donors to save the lives of other Australians.”
“Of course, a huge thank you to all those who came down to donate," Jemma added.
