Another glorious morning for Braidwood soccer last Saturday
Kicking off at 8.30 am with Glory v Roar, Glory were short on players so thanks to Roar for lending us a player to even things up. Good defence by Roar kept the score very close Glory defeating Roar 5/4.
Victory went down to the jets 2/1 a very close and exciting game with Ollie and Lachlan scoring the two goals for Jets and Max Scoring for Victory.
The under 11’s saw the Thunderbolts go down to Young Justice 3/0 This was a hard fought game between two very closely matched teams .Both sides showed moments of brilliance in attack and strength in defence, the final score could have gone either way .
Freedom Fighters and Avengers had a 5 all draw A tough game by well-matched sides, outstanding display by goal keepers, great offence by both sides .Great playing by Leroy, Nathan and big effort by Christobal.Great offence by Isabella, Nelson and Bonnie strong defence by Tamara, Layney and Hunter. Goal scorers for freedom fighters were Logan (2) Leroy (2) Nathan (1) and for the Avengers Nelson (1) Isabella (3) Cruz (1).
Then we have the under 8’s with the Dolphins going down to the Sharks 2/0 This was one of the cutest games I have got to witness for a long time both teams gave there all even the little dolphin in the red Tu-Tu (Ivy Nelson) all players on both teams looked like they were having a ball , Just watching these little ones with the ball skills they already have at their young age ws impressive ( I would say that would be a big Thank you to Murray Smith with his basic ball training/skills he had been doing the last few seasons ) it really stood out to me .
We had no report handed in for the Seals and the Turtles so will have to update later.
PALERANG UNITED MATCH REPORTS
The Palerang matches were all winners again this week.
THE UNDER 14’S Palerang Pinks taking on Gungahlin at Harrison fields with our girls winning 2/0 in which our girls played once again with just the ones on the field and no subs ,a tough game by the opposition but our girls came through (Once again)
Even when a ball kicked by Miss Ellie was received smack bang into one of the oppositions face “a massive hit“ (but an absolute accident) the other player went down hard. Our girls showed true sportsmanship by making sure that the opposition player was ok. Both goals for Palerang Pinks were scored by “Miss Bullet “Lyla Crosbie.
Yesterday a great performance from the Palerang open Under 15s against the Canberra Grammar Reds. With only 9 players, they constructed a great defence with Louis, Max and Isaac. Kyle Mitchell in goal provided great leadership and direction. Our half backs Rhys, Lachlan and Harry ran themselves ragged providing support for the forwards and backs running the ball through the field brilliantly. Our 2 forwards Callaum and Logan worked expertly with the help of their half backs to pull apart the Canberra red defence.
In the later part of the First half Palerang scored its 1st goal, it was well earned on the back of some great defence. In the second half, despite looking exhausted from having no subs with 2 players down, they dug deep and scored the next 9 goals. Final result 10 nil.
Scorers: Callaum Doyle 6, Harry Jeffery 3, Rhys Neate 1.
UNDER 12’S PALERANG
Good win against Belwest Phoenix. Palerang dominated their half most of the game. Exceptional effort from the mid and back line. Louise , hunter and Sam keeping pressure on as always. Great passing combinations in front line with clever assists set ups to provide the lead needed to win 7 - 0
See you all again next week
