Shear weight of possession cost Braidwood in the first half. You simply cannot hand over that much ball to a side who is that experienced. Right before the half Braidwood were reduced to 12 men with Harry Treloar getting 10 minutes in the bin. Norths made the most of their opportunities leading 26-0.
Braidwood came out of sheds showing signs of promise and were very close to breaking Norths line. A great lead up set put the Bears on the attack only for Norths to steal a cross field kick & their winger to run the length of the field & score.
The lopsided tackle count from the first half had taken its toll and North Canberra made the most of Braidwood’s tiring defence scoring four more tries to win 48-0.
Norths are the form side of the George Tooke Shield & even though the score board doesn't show it there is truly little between both sides. Simple one on one tackles and handling errors were the only difference. A few 50/50 calls go Braidwood’s way would have also helped.
The boys will now look to regroup this Saturday again at home against an unpredictable ADFA. Kickoff is 3pm.
