Local leaders recently attended Tai Chi for Arthritis training, which is a falls prevention initiative co-ordinated by Southern NSW Local Health District and delivered across local communities by volunteers. The workshop was held at Batemans Bay, with Dr Paul Lam facilitating the tai chi training. Dr Lam, an Australian family physician, is one of the most experienced and respected tai chi teachers in the world.

Of the 60 volunteers who attended the training, six were from the Braidwood region. Local classes are held in Braidwood on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays and at Gundillion Community Hall on Thursdays.
