Mr Barilaro presented $100,000 in funding to Queanbeyan-Palerang Regional Council towards a full theatre re-fit that also ensures the heritage nature of the theatre is preserved.
“The NSW Government understands how important art and culture is to local communities and is investing in facilities to boost this vibrant and important sector,” Mr Barilaro said.
“Supporting the upgrade of Braidwood Theatre is just one of the ways we’re improving the lives of those living and working in regional NSW.”
Deputy Premier and Minister for the Arts, Troy Grant said that no matter where you are in the State, you deserve access to great art and cultural experiences.
“We are committed to the development of a strong arts and cultural sector and we are pleased to support the Braidwood Theatre re-vamp in an effort to help build participation and ensure our facilities are equipped for the long term.”
Braidwood community Bank has been working closely with the Theatre 355 Committee and sees this project as a focus and will continue to support the renovations.
