Braidwood’s Community Radio Station opened new station premises at a new location on the grounds of the Braidwood Services Club. From the presenters; seat you can see straight down the fairways. Station Manager Gordon Waters has been working night and day to get the studio operational and thanked many who had helped with the move including builder Paul Henry and horticulturalist Dennis Dempsey.

The Member for Monaro John Barilaro helped to officially open the new studio and said the NSW Government awarded $12,413 under the Community Building Partnership program to help fund the re-location.
“The new station consists of two new studios, one for broadcasting, one for production and training and includes facilities for presenters, volunteers and guests such as a kitchenette, a ramp and wider doorway access for the physically impaired and for wheelchairs,” said Mr Barilaro.
“This Government acknowledges the valuable work that this radio station does to inform the local community,”
“I’m pleased that the NSW Government saw fit to financially support this important community organisation and their project to relocate the station.”
Member of the NSW Legislative Council Rick Colless - Parliamentary Secretary for Natural Resources and Regional Planning was present for the opening along with John Reynolds from Veolia Mulwaree Trust, representatives from Braidwood Community Bank and many of the stations past and present presenters and committee.
Braidwood Community Bank had contributed $37,000 to the project.
Longstanding presenters Rob Davidson, Jill McLeod, Roger Hosking and Dennis Dempsey were presented with certificates of appreciation for their many hours on air.
Board Member Mary Mathais said the success of the radio station was dependant on local longstanding sponsors and members.
Gordon Waters said the future of the radion was very bright with events and new programs and presenters coming on board, and was working towards becoming an emergency broadcast centre.
