Both girls performed their completed work last night at the Gorman House QL2 Theatre, where Jarrah choreographed a duo called Change, a dance that looked at the differences between the environments of her home town, Braidwood, and the big city of Canberra. She explored the calm and friendly feeling of home compared to the busy and sometimes confronting city environment.
Ela choreographed a solo called Move, which was inspired by watching a scene from the movie American Beauty, where a seemingly simple plastic bag is blown about in the wind, creating an unexpectedly graceful dance with the leaves lying on the concrete.
Both girls enjoyed the opportunity to express their own thoughts and ideas through movement in an experimental way.
